Non-repellent chemicals do not create a barrier that resists termites causing them to reveal themselves, nor does it alert them to their impending demise. Instead they create an undetectable “treated zone” through which Termites pass, unknowingly contaminating themselves then spreading the active chemical on to other termites in the colony via their feeding and grooming rituals.
Non-repellent products are a very effective, low-toxic, means of colony control as the termites cannot avoid what they cannot detect. This method relies on the direct transfer of the chemical from termite to termite and is facilitated by the chemicals delayed lethal effect allowing enough time for it to be transported down through the entire colony.
